Round 15: The Japanese Grand Prix

Remember MCLAREN WILL SCORE NO MANUFACTURER POINTS, and Nico Rosberg has a 10 spot grid penalty for changing his engine!!!

Sorry guys, I'm really late again. I think most of the late submissions will be accepted unless someone really has a problem with that. Mine were late as well, so I'm in with the rest of you. Hope your all watching this one live as it's on in half an hour.

Round 14: The Belgian Grand Prix

I updated the picks from Monza. It looks to be a good close race to the finish. I figured I'd put the post up plenty early this week, I'll add qually results later. For now, enjoy one of my favorite videos. A couple laps onboard Mika Hakinnen as he sets up a pass on Schumi at Spa.

Round 11: The Hungarian Grand Prix

Hey guys, sorry I posted this so late today. Hope everybody saw the points update, if not check the last post or just the points page. Remember, these are just the qualy times, Alonso was demoted to 6th place for impeding Hamilton. Make sure you take that into account when making your pics. Oh, and Tim, don't forget to pick the FL, PS, etc.

By the way, if any of you are interested. I competed in my first karting race last weekend. Had to start from the back, cuz i'm a newb, but I passed 2 people in the race. I would say that makes me a legitimate race driver. Who knows, maybe someday you'll be picking me for the win...

Points Update: 7/26/07

What's up guys. I finally got around to updating the points from the last three rounds. In case your wondering on the main page, the highlighted cells are the top scores for the round, and scores in red are for rounds where no picks were submitted. Half points are awarded based on the previous races picks.
On each race's page, correct picks are highlighted yellow, and the winner is highlighted in green. A red cell underneath your name means no picks were submitted for that race.

I was able to find the speed trap figures thanks to the helpful people over at the SpeedTV forums. There is a FIA media site with official press releases for all of the timing & scoring. It's pretty neat, has lots of information. If you want you can check it out here.

Tim - for this last race (Germany) you only picked 1-8, and not the Manufacturere, Fast Lap, etc. Did you just forget to enter them or not make them? If so I can take them from your last race.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think.

Round 8: The French Grand Prix

Hey guys, sorry I didn't make the post yesterday. I completely forgot, and by the time you guys started calling i was already so drunk and tired I passed out without making the post. But hey, thanks to FOX's wonderful tape delay, the race hasn't even aired yet even though it's probably about over by now. So I can't really go find qually results cuz I don't wanna see any race results.
So here's a list from qualy

1 Massa

Points Updated 6/21/2007

Hey guys,

I updated the picks points through Indianapolis. What a great time, I hope you guys all enjoyed yourselves as well. And Luke, I hope you got to see the race. Anyway, I you guys take a look at the points page I also added a graph of your cumulative points. Its kind of nice to see where you stand compared to everyone else and how much ground you have to make up. It's still anybodies game with 50 points available at each round. Let me know what you guys think, post any comments or suggestions. The next race is in a week and a half, let's see if Hamy can keep this up.

Round 7: The United States Grand Prix

Well boys, it's that time of year again. The flowers are blooming, the baby birds are chirping, and the Formula 1 engines are at full song as they scream through the brickyard at 200 mph.

I'm not exactly sure how the picks are going to work out for this race as we are all going to be at the track, (except for luke). I don't know if the hotel will have internet access, so who knows if I'll be able to post the qualy results. If I get picks from most people, I guess we'll go ahead and include the race. If most of you can't make picks we may just exclude it. But go ahead and try and get them to me any way possible.

Tex and Tim, hopefully we'll see you guys there. I'll prolly give you a call thursday and see if you wanna get together one of the evenings.

Well, everybody have a great time, and hopefully 8 cars don't crash in the first corner this year!!!

Points Updated 6/12/2007

Hey Guys,

Crazy canada race huh? Attrition, penalties, disqualifications, maiden wins, and who thought they would see the day when a Super Aguri would pass Fernando Alonso. So I guess I've been slackin a little bit with updating the points. I finally got around to it, figured it needed to be done before we all head to Indy. Check your points over for any mistakes. I did change something, previously I allowed your pick to carry over for 2 weeks in case you were not able to make any for a week, it wouldn't hurt too much. However this did not seem fair to people making picks, so for any week you fail to submit picks, you will recive half the points that your previous picks earn you. Let me know if anyone has any problems with this. Weeks in which no picks were submitted are denoted by the red shading.

Don't give up guys, I'm not winning by that much. You all still have a chance to catch me. I will make a post for Indy before I leave, but will be flexible for this race. Get your picks to me any way you can. And now for your pleasure here are some pics of Kubica's crash, (don't worry, he's fine)

2007 I-Town F1 Pool

Hey guys, what's up? Hope you've been following winter testing cuz it's gonna be a good year. As usual there have been some changes to the sporting regulations, there was a little bitching last year too, so we're going to revise the system. We have a couple of options, so I thought I would list some ideas.

I do not believe we are going to be able to enact the tier system this year, at least not straight out of the gate. Super Aguri is running a modified 06 Honda chassis with a Honda engine, and STR is running the same chassis as Red Bull with a Ferrari engine so who knows where they'll be. We can reinstate some tiers if definite divisions in competitiveness appear this year as well.

Luke has mentioned that he thinks it would be more appropriate to awards the manufacterer points to the team that recieves the most points, instead of simply the manufacturer of the winning car.

My personal suggestion would also be to expand the number of positions that we choose to either 5 or 8 and we could use the same points systems as awarded to the drivers. I would like the keep the fastest lap choice, however I'm not so sure what to do about the pit stops. We can just do away with it, or keep it, or change it to something to do with the tires. Another new regulation this year is the mandated use of a second tire spec for a single stint during dry races. A pick of the stint when the 'option' tire is used could replace the pit stop choice, or we could just add it on.

The first race starts this saturday at about midnight so I was hoping the get the regulations set by the night before. If you guys have any input I'd love to hear it, we just have to hurry.
